Celebrating 5 Years of Healing with Hyperbarics in Fargo!
We recently celebrated 5 years of Healing with Hyperbarics of North Dakota in Fargo! We are incredibly grateful to be a part of this community and thankful to all of you who have supported us in the last 5 years.
How Healing with Hyperbarics of North Dakota First Started
Before our clinic opened, the Fargo-Moorhead (FM) area was severely lacking in quality care for patients with concussions. Like with most places in the US, the protocol was “hurry up and wait” and hope the symptoms get better. Luckily, one man from the area recognized this problem; Gary Tharaldson. He had personally seen the long-lasting effects of concussions on the people around him and was able to recognize the greater needs of the community. Gary then sought out how he could bring a concussion treatment to the area and on January 14th, 2018, Dr. Daphne Denham traveled from her home in Chicago to Fargo, ND, to meet with him. Less than 6 months after their first meeting, Healing with Hyperbarics of North Dakota was opened in Fargo.
We have treated over 1,000 concussions!
Since its opening our Fargo location has treated over 1,000 concussions with extremely promising results. On average, we see our concussion patients getting better in as little as two days. The outpouring of support we have gotten for our breakthrough work is amazing to see. We look forward to continuing one of our primary missions: TREATing and educating about concussions. Whether it's a recent concussion, or one you experienced years ago, hyperbarics can help you get back to feeling like yourself. You should not have to accept a New Normal (link video) after a head injury.
Success with post-covid longhauler
Beginning in 2020, we saw a new phenomenon: post-covid longhauler. With drastically different symptoms from person to person, it was hard to find a treatment that worked well in treating all of the different symptoms. Today, we can proudly state we have treated over a hundred post-covid longhauler patients. Whether its fatigue, brain fog, difficulty sleeping or chronic pain, our patients have gotten relief from their symptoms with hyperbaric oxygen.
Continuing to show up for our Veterans
Our community’s support for Veterans is strong – and we have felt that over the last 5 years. We are now partnering with the North Dakota Departments of Veterans Affairs to treat Veterans with hyperbarics, at no cost to them. Right now, the need is high and there is a waitlist of Veterans waiting to see how hyperbarics will help change their lives. During our 5-year celebration we raised money for the Veteran grant. Thank you to all who donated. If you are interested in donating, please contact us for how you can donate today.
Hyperbarics is for everyone – and you have shown us just that
From grandchildren to grandparents, concussions to chronic pain, we have seen all walks of life in our clinic. While numbers are great, it is truly each and every person that walks through our doors that makes the difference. Seeing how hyperbaric oxygen has changed your life keeps us pushing forward with this treatment and reminds us that our mission is big, but it’s exactly where we need to be.
Looking forward
We are extremely excited for the next five years; we have a lot in store for the FM area. We plan to get the community more involved with our work with concussions and will be sharing more information as we are able. Additionally, our Veterans grant is still ongoing so we will continue to serve those who have served us. Once again, if you are able, please donate to help us treat our Veterans with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Special thanks to our community
We would like to give a special thanks to Gary Theraldson for his dedication and continued support. We truly would not be here without your help. Additionally, Myron Loberg deserves a thank you for his advocacy for hyperbaric oxygen therapy in our community. We’d also like to thank Lonnie Wangen from the North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs, and Chris Deery from the Cass County Veterans Service Office for their ongoing support for our Veterans. And finally, thank YOU. Your community has welcomed us with open arms, and you have never wavered in your support.
We look forward to continuing to serve you and to another 5 years at Healing with Hyperbarics of North Dakota.
