March 2025 Hyperbarics Impact Report

Transforming Healing in the Fargo Community with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

As we transition into spring, Healing with Hyperbarics in Fargo, ND, continues to make significant strides in patient care and community engagement through hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy. March brought new milestones, patient success stories, and strengthened partnerships, all contributing to our mission of promoting healing and wellness.

Revolutionizing Concussion Treatment with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Traditional concussion care often focuses on managing symptoms rather than providing active healing. At Healing with Hyperbarics, we’re changing the narrative, moving away from passive symptom monitoring to a comprehensive approach aimed at truly healing the brain. By leveraging hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO), we’re offering patients a powerful treatment option that provides true injury recovery and promotes long-term brain healing.

March 2025 Concussion Highlights

Acute Concussions

These are concussions treated within 10 days - 2 weeks of injury. Our specialized protocol focuses on rapid recovery, with most patients reporting significant improvements in just a few sessions.

  • 3 acute concussions treated in March

  • Patients typically require only 1 to 5 treatments for full recovery

  • On average, 4 treatments lead to complete symptom resolution

Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS)

For patients experiencing symptoms beyond 2 weeks, we customize our treatments to meet individual needs, ensuring the fastest and most complete recovery possible.

  • 4 post-concussion syndrome (PCS) patients treated in January

  • On average, PCS patients required 10 treatments for full symptom resolution

“Wow, what a great place with kind and caring staff. Everything was explained thoroughly prior to beginning treatments. The facility was really clean and accommodating to allow internet access, so I could work while waiting. Most importantly, my son had amazing results after each treatment with fewer concussion symptoms and then eventually none! We highly recommend Healing with Hyperbarics and would consider returning to treat other health issues for the whole family.” -Denae F.

Expanding Reach: The Far-Reaching Impact of Healing with Hyperbarics

While Healing with Hyperbarics serves local patients in the Fargo-Moorhead area, we’re proud to welcome patients from across the Midwest—and even beyond. In March, concussion patients traveled a combined 270 miles to access our specialized care, highlighting the growing recognition of our approach in treating brain injuries.

We are able to treat our far-traveling patients because of the community support we have here in Fargo. The Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley has been a gracious host to so many out-of-town patients and their families. We’ve expanded our availability to offer numerous weekends each month, and we work with as many schedules as we can to allow treatment times and true healing. It is an honor for people to travel so far for their care, and we don’t take that lightly.

“Friendly and professional! They worked with our schedule, and were very helpful with different aspects of our treatment.” - Carol S.

Supporting Veterans: Free Treatment Days and Ongoing Care

Since our opening in 2018, Healing with Hyperbarics has been a steadfast advocate for Veterans’ health. Our ongoing partnerships with The North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (NDDVA), pilot studies with Fargo’s Veterans Affairs (VA), and donated funds from our amazing community, have been essential in supporting our work with Veterans. Our treatments focus on those struggling with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), post-concussion syndrome (PCS), and other debilitating conditions. In 2025, we’re continuing our commitment to Veterans by offering free monthly treatment days.

Hyperbarics for Veterans: A Lifeline for Those Who Have Served

This month, we continued to provide free HBO treatments to Veterans, helping them treat the lasting effects of trauma and brain injury from their service. Your support can make a significant difference.

  • 9 Veterans received treatments in March

  • Numerous Veterans are still on the waitlist for future sessions provided with our grant partnership with The North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (more on the grant program below “NDDVA Hyperbarics Grant: Helping Veterans Access Vital Care”.

How You Can Help Support Veterans

We’re passionate about supporting our veterans, but we need your help to keep these important initiatives alive:

  • Spread the Word: Share our FREE Veteran Treatment Days with your network. These are posted on our Facebook page every month.

  • Sponsor a Veteran: Many veterans require multiple treatments, and more often than just once-a-month with our free treatment days. You can help by sponsoring a Veteran for a full course of treatment. A one-time donation of $2,000 can provide a life-changing treatment plan. Contact us at info@healingwithhyperbarics.com for more details.

NDDVA Hyperbarics Grant: Helping Veterans Access Vital Care

Veterans may also qualify for 30 hours of HBO through the NDDVA Hyperbaric Oxygen Grant, which offers healing for conditions such as:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Post-concussion syndrome (PCS)

  • Traumatic brain injuries (TBI)

  • Chronic pain and inflammation

Advocating During Brain Injury Awareness Month

March is recognized as Brain Injury Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing our understanding and promoting strategies for prevention, recognition, and recovery of brain injuries. At Healing with Hyperbarics, we focus our advocacy efforts on concussion awareness, the most common type of traumatic brain injury (TBI), with an estimated 3.8 million concussions occurring annually in the U.S. during sports and recreational activities alone.

Throughout the month, we held several initiatives for Brain Injury Awareness Month, including:

The highlight of our efforts, though, was a visit to the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck, ND, where our team had the opportunity to meet with legislators and health officials. We shared our approach to treating brain injuries with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy, emphasizing the positive outcomes we’ve seen in thousands of patients. It was an important step in advocating for greater support, funding, and policy change to improve brain injury care and awareness across the state.

We remain committed to supporting individuals impacted by brain injuries—not just in March, but year-round. Thank you to everyone who engaged with our content, shared their stories, and stood alongside us in raising awareness that treatment is possible. Together, we’re shifting the paradigm from symptom management to true healing.
